Narayana Health has achieved a significant milestone by completing over 10,000 successful orthopaedic and spine surgeries, including more than 1,000 robotic joint replacements. The achievement highlights the institution’s continued focus on clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centric care.
As part of this achievement, the medical team successfully managed several complex cases.
In one instance, a 69-year-old patient suffering from advanced osteoarthritis underwent total knee replacement surgery. The patient was mobilised within a day of the procedure and later discharged with significantly improved mobility.
In another case, a 53-year-old patient diagnosed with a rare multi-level spinal tumour underwent a highly advanced surgical procedure. The surgery involved tumour excision and multi-level spinal stabilisation using advanced navigation and neuromonitoring technologies.
Dr. Abhinandan S. Punit, Senior Consultant and Clinical Lead – Arthroplasty, stated that the milestone underscores the institution’s efforts to make advanced healthcare accessible to a wider population. He noted that integrating robotic-assisted technologies and multidisciplinary care models has improved surgical accuracy, accelerated recovery, and led to better long-term outcomes.
The hospital also emphasised the role of early diagnosis and integrated care in managing complex orthopaedic and spine conditions. According to the medical team, continued investment in technology and expertise is expected to further strengthen its capabilities in delivering advanced treatment solutions.
With a growing emphasis on innovation and accessibility, Narayana Health aims to expand its reach and reinforce its position as a centre of excellence in orthopaedic and spine care.
